Manaslu Rupina La Pass Trek

Rupina La Pass trek in the Manaslu region is one of the challenging treks in Nepal. This trekking route was only officially opened for tourists in 1991.  The entire Manaslu region is geographically spectacular naturally and culturally due to the gorgeous Himalayan scenery, lush valleys, beautiful landscapes, diverse flora and fauna and mix ethnicities. During the trek, one can enjoy the Tibetan culture with the lifestyle of the people.

When you walk through typical ethnic villages to northward delightful valley and alpine meadows you will reach to beautiful Tibetan-style villages. As you walk up the hill each  day you will feel the geological variation impacts on cultural aspect. When walking to higher altitudes you will not feel  the humid temperature of the lowlands.

You will start Manaslu  Rupina La  Pass trek from Arughat Bazaar , an old market located near the bank of the river Budhi Gandaki river and keep walking through the well-preserved countryside and heading towards Rupinala (4670m) pass, where the trail emerges into the wilderness for several days before coming down to  Budi Gandaki River valley. As you gain altitude, the valley ultimately gives a glimpse of the wonderful cluster of villages and mountain pastures beneath Mount Manaslu’s extensive North Face. The trail reaches Samagaon, the main and important village on the expedition route to Manaslu peak and trekking route to Manaslu. During the trek, you don’t see any other trekkers for the first ten days while making the circuit of Mount Manaslu via Rupina La. After crossing both Rupina La and Larkya La high Mountain passes we walk down the Marsyangdi valley and follow the Annapurna circuit trail and take a land transport from Syange to Beshisahar or continue further to Kathmandu to conclude the trek.

This is a wild area trek, but our staff of expert Sherpa guides ensures that our team is safe and well- cared. In our website, we have proposed Rupina La Pass trekking as a 26-day package program including Kathmandu sightseeing. However, this itinerary can be tailor-made and shortened according to the interest of the clients. Please let us know.
