Helambu Gosaikunda Trail

Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu Trek is a round trekking trail starting in  Langtang Valley heading to  Gosaikunda Lake and ending in  Helambu valley. This long trek is considered to be a non- technical and suitable for every trekker and age group. It  covers three iconic trekking trails namely Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda Lake and Helambu valley all lie in the Langtang region north of Kathmandu valley.For every trekker it  is the most effective way to explore the holy Lake Gosaikunda, Lurebina La Pass, Rhododendron forests and various species of  flora and fauna along the route. During the full moon day in August thousands of Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims including the locals visit the sacred lake of Gosaikunda to pay religious homage every year.

The main attraction of Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu Trek  is to view  the blooming of  rhododendrons especially in Spring and  walk through bamboo forests sighting  an abundance of wildlife, majestic waterfalls flowing over huge boulders, a chance to swim in the river,  enjoy  magnificent views of the snow covered Himalayan Mountain range. While walking through traditionally built ethnic Tamang heritage villages, one will experience local culture, way of life of the villagers and religious practices. Besides one will also get an opportunity to climb small peaks, visit Nepal’s oldest Cheese factory, glaciers and scared lakes along the route. Most of  the trekking routes of Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu fall  into Langtang National Park that offers pine and rhododendron forests, swift mountain streams, rugged rock , grassy sloping land  and meadows strewn with alpine flowers. The way to  Gosaikunda Lake climbs more steeply through farmlands above the tree line to that of  an alpine ridge. While trekking  to scared high altitudes lakes  one can witness a beautiful Himalayan panorama. At  Kyanjing one can  experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks who perform their rituals in a beautiful Monastery every morning and at the Buddhist festivals.

In the beautiful Sherpa land of Helambu one will explore the locally popular Tibetan monasteries and experience the Tibetan culture and tradition. Helambu valley is also as popular as Langtang valley for its natural beauty , wonderful climate , superb views of snow-covered mountains and friendly Yolmo also pronounced as Hyolmo tribes. They have their own language and follow Yolmo culture. .
