11 Days

Annapurna Range from Mohare Dada

Mohare Danda Trek, also called Community Eco Trail, is one of newly explored off- the- beaten trekking routes in the Annapurna region. This trek will be the best option for those travelers who have short time to explore unlimited cultural and natural treasures of Nepal. Another highlight of this trek is to promote sustainable eco tourism of Nepal and to support local community projects that play a significant role in uplifting the lifestyle of rural people.

Mohare Danda trek offers up close view of colossal Mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from the hill top of Mohare  at 3,300m from sea level. Trekkers can also enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunset views over the sparkling mountains. The trail to Mohare Danda passes through a dramatic ridge, rivers and Oaks, Bamboo , Pine and rhododendron  forests and then across flower filled alpine meadow. The entire scenario and   Mohare hill top itself truly deserves to be the ideal place to enjoy peace and tranquility.

The trekking route mostly runs along the Kali Gandaki River, between Beni and Tatopani, east towards the peaks of the Annapurnas. The area that we pass through is predominantly inhabited by Magars ( one of Nepal’s ethnic groups of people) and we promote this trek is  to help the local population that several home stays, community lodges and dining halls have been  developed, along with handicraft industries such as weaving and paper making along the trekking route. The significant highlight of this trek is the strong community involvement. You will stay in friendly homes, eat in community dining halls, meet local teachers and community organizers, and visit locally- run cottage industries to empower women. The community lodges have also adopted eco-friendly practices such as safe-drinking-water facilities and solar and micro-hydro electricity.

Trip Highlights

A newly explored trek offering amazing sunrise and sunset views, sceneries of snow capped mountains, unique culture, rituals, and lifestyles of Magar and Gurung ethnic communities residing alongside the trail. It is a non-touristy trail introducing to experience peace and tranquility and to help to develop poor community areas with sustainable eco tourism in the Annapurna region.
